This project involved installing an epoxy floor over an existing surface to create a more durable and finished look. Epoxy coatings are a great option for spaces like this because they provide a seamless surface that’s both tough and easy to maintain.
As with any epoxy system, proper preparation is the most important part of the process. We started by scraping, cleaning, and sanding the floor to remove any contaminants and create the right surface profile for strong adhesion. Taking the time to prep correctly helps ensure the coating bonds well and holds up over time.
Once the surface was ready, we applied a two-part epoxy coating and added flake to give the floor texture and a more uniform, finished appearance. This type of system not only improves how the floor looks, but also adds durability and helps hide minor imperfections in the underlying surface.
The goal was to turn a worn floor into something that looks clean, performs well, and stands up to regular use. Photos were taken after installation while the coating was still curing.
- Floor scraped, cleaned, and prepped
- Surface sanded for proper adhesion
- Two-part epoxy coating applied
- Flake added for texture and finish
- Durable, easy-to-maintain final surface
This project shows how the right prep work and materials can completely refresh a floor and give it a long-lasting, clean, and professionally finished look that holds up over time.
